MMA Arcade Fighting

Eighteen parody fighters, an AI that hits back, one special per head. It already runs in a browser — the studio's, not yours yet.

01 · The game

An octagon under the neon

An MMA fighting game as if the arcade cabinet had survived all the way to you. Built with Phaser, playable in a browser. Violet night, magenta, cyan — and haymakers. The proof, not the mockup:

Fight in the arena: Francis Kogannou versus Benoît Saint-Destroy, neon health bars and special gauges, timer at 98, the SUBMISSION! announcement in yellow across the screen

Neon retro pixel-art

Press Start 2P type, colours that bleed, permanent night. Arcade-hall aesthetics without the fake nostalgia.

From bible to sprite

Every fighter is born in a character bible, takes shape in Blender, gets rigged, then rendered as a 128-pixel spritesheet — recognisable down to the last pixel.

An AI across the cage

Not a punching bag: an opponent. It advances, retreats and picks its shots — and it will not let you breathe.

Specials, sounds, sets

One special move per fighter, haymaker sound effects, an arena and a dojo to take them in. The roster is picked on a selection screen of painted portraits.

02 · The roster

Any resemblance is entirely intentional

Eighteen parody fighters, all out of the character bible: described, modelled in Blender, rigged, rendered as 128-pixel sprites. The originals are doing just fine, thanks for asking. And on the selection screen, painted portraits — see for yourself:

Fighter select screen in the neon cage: painted portraits of Ciryl, Francis Kogannou and Manon Fiorage, stats as glowing dots, magenta lore panel, 2/18 counter, BACK and CONFIRM buttons

03 · The work

The state of the ring, no cheating

The studio's original games project — and its most advanced. A fighting game is tuned to the millimetre: better one clean round than ten sloppy ones. Brick by brick, here is what stands.

Translation: “in place” means it runs in the prototype, from first screen to KO — on the studio's machines. Nothing is publicly playable yet, and no date is promised. When that changes, you will know — if you raised your hand.
